Day 5

I went to a training session Thursday in Toronto and it was excellent.  There was however a mishap:
  I tried, I really tried.  But it kept calling me, for four hours it was calling me. Finally, when I realized my lunch was looking pretty pathetic (read: healthy and low calorie) and I was hungry (that was the main problem), I had to do it. I ate the Muffin (big, commercial, white muffin).   I was really hoping they put them away after everybody got there and I wouldn't have to try to hold off on my willpower.  But alas, nope.  They sat there mocking me...  The good news is that even after eating the muffin, I'm still on track for the day. I just swapped a few snacks that's all.  And I only had one and skipped the pasties completely.

And it didn't derail me for the rest of the week, like it usually would have.  The motivation of bragging rights and money seems to be working quite well.  Not to mention all of the planning I am doing and the lack of snacks in the house.

Yesterday (only day 4 and 35 left) and this morning seemed particularly hard for some reason (still unknown, can't figure it out).  I got groceries yesterday and when I was pretty much done, I had to pick up my pace, put my head down and just complete my list.  I only went into one food aisle and that was for my son.  I just shopped the outside as it's clean eating week coming up.  I usually shop mostly the outside, but I do like my boxes, bags and cans of certain convenience (healthyish) foods.  This morning, I had to get a few things at another store and was going to get a spice that I might need for this recipe I am trying, but everything was looking so good, so I left.  I'll make do with the spices I have.

Girls, game on!!  I want to win this!
