Game on!

A friend of mine goes Black Friday shopping with me every year.  I was telling her that my (newest) goal is to lose 15 pounds by then so I can get a new outfit and it turns out, she’s interested in doing the same.
Sooooo, being a wee bit competitive, we now have a challenge!  I am in the midst of texting another friend who wants to join our little “party” too.  Anyone else up for a challenge?  This will also coincide nicely with the Body Shop challenge at the Y in October, except we are getting a head start.

To help me with my new goal, I am also going to start weighing in every Friday, not every month.  Today, I was the same as my September weigh in.  Perhaps this will make me a little more accountable and seven days isn’t as hard to lose track of as a month.  I will still be eating healthy from Canada’s Food Guide, just not as much as I have been and I won’t ever go under 1200 calories.  In fact, I believe that I will be around 1800-2000 with my activity level.  I’ll have to play with that for the next few weeks and see.  I am aiming for a 1.5 pound loss a week.  I will be teaching my usual classes a week with a few more workouts thrown in too.

Speaking of working out, a few posts ago, I mentioned some workout goals of mine: teaching TRX, swimming, stair climber, a 5k and teach Nordic Polewalking.  I have accomplished four of those!!   And the only reason I haven’t done the 5k is that it is next Sunday.  I will be continuing all of these activities in the future too.  Swimming and the stair climber was hard for me!  I am determined to get better so they aren’t so challenging in a few months.

Let me know if you are interested in this challenge.  Once I know how many people want to play (you have to play healthy, no starving allowed!), we will set up something as motivation for the end of November. J
