On a More Postitive Note...

So, taking a month off of publishing weight loss and inches lost didn’t help.  I only maintained my weight and measurements.  I am however tired of being down on myself, so I compiled a list of what I HAVE accomplished since January and the start of this blog.  It’s true, I’m not losing a lot of weight, but I have yet to conquer that problem.  I have done the following though:

·         Lost 10 pounds

·         Lost 9.5 inches

·         Taken a TRX course

·         Taken a low ropes course

·         Increased my weights lifted by 50%

·         Taught my first aquafit class

·         Burned 301 calories in a 30 minute bike class

·         Introduced many people to exercise

·         Started Y Weight? with over 80% of participants losing weight

·         Made new friends in the process and reconnected with old ones

·         Gone from 0 to 12 lunge jumps (sooooo hard!)

·         Participated in a ladies golf league (have golfed once in 12 years)

·         And just this week started running (slow jog actually) again.  8 years ago was the last time I was consistent with ‘running’.

After seeing that in writing, I’m not feeling so bad about the lack of weight loss.  As I have said many times:  If it was easy, everyone would do it.  And even though I would like to see results, I am not doing it unhealthy by using fad diets.  I am going to continue to try to lose weight very slowly and healthy.  In the meantime, here are my plans for the rest of the year (as well as weight loss):

·         Jog 5k of the Terry Fox Run

·         Teach a TRX class

·         Learn and teach Nordic Pole walking

·         Start swimming laps (I can swim, but not well)

·         And use the stair climber weekly

Those are just my plans.  Who knows what else I might accomplish?  Let me know your accomplishments and plans for the rest of the year….  tdafoe@ymcanorthumberland.com

  1. I forgot a few in my list: I survived a kettlebell workout and I managed to stumble through a Zumba class or two
