I am thisclose
to quitting! Giving up, tossing
in the towel, abandoning the
quest, leaving the building, singing…. Most people get frustrated when they are
trying really hard and the scale doesn’t move.
That’s understandable.
I try to
give them suggestions that perhaps they need to change their program or make
sure their portions aren’t increasing.
Sometimes they need to drop the number of calories they are eating because
their body is lighter and needs less calories.
Other times, they aren’t eating enough and need to get their body out of
starvation mode and actually eat more to lose weight. A tweak or two generally helps and after a
few weeks, they notice changes again.
Myself, I am not trying hard enough. This month is going to have horrible results,
I can tell already! I should be bruised
from head to toe with the amount of falling off the wagon and getting back on
that I have been doing this month….I have thought a lot about quitting and just
giving up. Then I get a great email or
comment and keep trying. I am not giving
up, I can’t disappoint my reader. She
needs this too.
I won’t give up. This
time I have stocked the pantry with healthy 200 calorie or fewer snacks, so I
have something quick and easy to grab when I am hungry. I am still working on the six “problems” from
a few posts ago and realize that I am a work in progress. So far this year I have: gotten over a back injury (with help from
We-Fix-U!), increased my cardio, greatly increased my strength, been
certified in aquafit and TRX, gotten a great full-time job and
started the popular Y Weight class now two times a week! Coming up I have new workouts planned such as
running jogging, TRX, more cyclefit, aquafit, Olympic lifting (a class I
will take), and training next weekend at Geneva Park for our yearly Y
retreat. There’s more to come…
I will not give up, I will not give up, I will not give up,
I will not give up, I will not give up, I will not give up, I will not give up,
I will not give up, I will not give up, I will not give up, I will not give up,
I will not give up. I will not give up…….I. AM. NOT. DONE!
Tracey I know that you can do anything you put your mind too! Walker and I believe in you !
ReplyDeleteLove Kim and Walker
Thanks, that helps!
DeleteThanks Tracey...i needed to read that as i have fallin big time off the wagon..I am afraid to weigh in tomorrow night...But I am not giving up either..I have worked to hard with all the help I have to get as far as I have. My fear is that the summer is going to be harder for me...as it is ice cream season.
ReplyDeleteWeighins are optional. If it's not going to help you to get back on track, skipping that part is fine. When I buy ice cream (I LOVE ice cream!)and I do, I portion it in 1/2 cup servings as soon as I get home, so I don't eat it in huge portions...
