Sidelined and Hungry

Now that the technicalities are done, the numbers are posted and you know how to figure out your own numbers, (check the last three blogs for this information if you are new here) I can talk about what's going on in real life.

I can hardly wait for the Y's new fitness class schedule to come out in February! I am going to try some new classes, go to some I've been neglecting and teach more than ever before.

As for eating, I need to re-evaluate my menu choices because even though I have been eating enough, I still feel hungry. It's probably all in my head but perhaps I will reassess before the weigh in.  I think I need more calories during the day and cut back on my dinner and after dinner snack.  That’s the hardest part though, because I love my nighttime snack.  When the kids were babies, I think I felt I had “earned” it because I made it through the crying (not always mine :) ), the feedings and changes of the day and finally got to relax for a bit.  Eleven years later, it’s a habit.  A bad one!  I have tried to totally cut the snack out, but with our schedule we need to eat dinner early (like 5:00) and so by 9:00 I am truly hungry.  I know what I need to do but it’s so ingrained now, it’s a challenge to change.  Any ideas?
For exercise, I have been doing ok, not great, but not throwing in the towel either.  I hurt my back right before Christmas and thought it was improving. Perhaps the cold and incessant coughing had something to do with my back still hurting a month later. I didn’t want to make it any worse so I went to physio and should be back to normal (my normal!) in no time, or so Alan at We-Fix-U says. I have been exercising though, just not up to my usual intensity.
